Hemorrhoids are a common, uncomfortable health issue that plagues both men and women and can range from a minor nuisance to a significantly painful condition requiring surgical intervention. Home hemorrhoid treatment methods are highly effective for most minor cases of hemorrhoids; however, in some instances hemorrhoid sufferers must seek medical attention to alleviate painful symptoms and be able to participate in normal, everyday activities. It is important to note that some of the symptoms of hemorrhoids, such as rectal bleeding, can also be caused by other serious health issues or diseases; therefore, anyone experiencing symptoms should consult with a physician to confirm that the symptoms are caused by hemorrhoids prior to attempting to treat hemorrhoids at home.

There are a range of suppositories, oitments and tablets available, although a cream such as Preparation H Hemorrhoidal Ointment can provide soothing relieve while it treats the problem.

In many cases, hemorrhoids home treatment is entirely possible and involves making simple lifestyle changes and taking steps to decrease discomfort while hemorrhoids are present. Promoting healthy, regular bowl movements without straining is an important part of treating and preventing hemorrhoids; therefore, many home treatment methods are centered on making dietary and lifestyle changes to this end. For example, increasing fiber and water intake and limiting foods and beverages that can cause constipation, such as ice cream, cheeses, caffeinated drinks, red meat and alcohol is an important step that should be taken by those who are treating hemorrhoids at home, as well as those who are seeking surgical intervention and would like to avoid future episodes.

Other treatment for hemorrhoids can include using stool softeners and over the counter medications to alleviate pain or itching, switching to soaps and body washes that do not have dyes or perfumes, applying ice packs and warm compresses throughout the day, taking sitz baths, and wearing cotton underwear and loose-fitting clothing to avoid irritation, pressure on the area and the build up of moisture.

Sometimes these lifestyle changes and comfort measures are enough to treat current hemorrhoids and prevent future cases; however, medical intervention is necessary in some instances. People who have large internal or external hemorrhoids, prolapsed hemorrhoids, or hemorrhoids that that have not responded well to home treatments, may find that more advanced hemorrhoid treatments are necessary. In these cases, there are a number of hemorrhoid treatment options available, ranging from minimally-invasive injections to surgical hemorrhoidectomies.

Medical treatment options for hemorrhoids include injections to shrink the hemorrhoids, rubber band ligation to cut off blood supply, cryotherapy, laser removal, coagulation using laser or infrared light or heat, stapling or surgical removal through a hemorrhoidectomy. When medical interventions are used for hemorrhoid treatment, it is important that the patient also makes dietary and lifestyle changes to prevent future hemorrhoids from occurring.

Since about three-quarters of the Uniteds States population suffers from hemorrhoids at some point in their lives, learning more about a natural cure for hemorrhoids would be a useful step for many. The topic of hemorrhoids canbe embarrassing for most people to talk about, even to their doctors.

Diet is one of the best natural cures for hemorrhoids
There are a number of types of foods that can be added to or removed from the diet to help treat hemorrhoids and avoid getting the problem in the first place.

Foods rich in fiber can be extremely helpful to relieve the symptoms of hemorrhoids and any resultant bleeding. Eating things like whole grains and vegetables can add a lot of fiber to your diet. Another inexpensive option is the powdered fiber supplements that you can mix with water such as Metamucil or even a plain Psyllium Husk powder or capsule. When you have enough fiber in your diet, your stools will be softer and bulkier, which lessens straining that can cause hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids can cause uncomfortable and embarrassing itching. Lowering the acid ph balance in your diet can help this. Try to cut down on things like carbonated drinks, citrus, beer and wine, and caffeine.

Drink plenty of water, non-citrus juices, and clear soups to promote easier bowel movement.

Herbal Treatments
Dietary supplements containing certain herbs or herbal mixtures applied topically are known to be beneficial in curing hemorrhoids.

Witch Hazel – You can purchase this in an ointment or medicated pad and should be applied directly to the hemorrhoids. Witch hazel is an astringent and stops the bleeding, along with easing pain, swelling, and itching.

Butcher’s Broom – This has been used for years for the treatment of hemorrhoids and varicose veins because it improves circulation in the veins. It acts as an anti-inflammatory and thus, shrinks swollen tissue. This is also applied as an ointment or compress.

Horse Chestnut – This has some of the same properties of butcher’s broom, but is taken as a caplet or in a tea.

Other Things that Can Help Heal Hemorrhoids
Avoid aggravating the area by rubbing too hard with toilet paper and consider switching to moistened toilet wipes or baby wipes.

Keep the area clean and use a soap free wash as soaps can irritate the delicate area.

Ice packs on inflamed hemorrhoids are very effective. Using a zip lock bag, apply the ice on and off for about 15 minutes. Do this 5 times a day.

If you are suffering from hemorrhoid pain, you probably are interested in how to get rid of hemorrhoids. Most hemorrhoid treatments focus on relieving the pain and the symptoms associated with having hemorrhoids, although in some serious cases, surgical intervention may become necessary.

Some of the most common ways to relieve the symptoms of hemorrhoids include using a sitz bath kit or warm bath to soak the anal region or using ice packs to help reduce the swelling. The pain associated with hemorrhoids can be treated using over the counter oral pain medications such as aspirin or acetaminophen. Hemorrhoid creams, such as Preparation-H, and cortisone creams and petroleum jelly can also help relieve the itching and swelling caused by hemorrhoids. Finally, when you are suffering from a hemorrhoid outbreak you should try to wear comfortable, lose fitting underwear and clothing.

In the case of very serious hemorrhoids, such as a thrombosed external hemorrhoid or a prolapsed hemorrhoid, a surgical procedure called a hemorrhoidectomy may be used to remove the hemorrhoid group. There are also other medical procedures that can help shrink the hemorrhoids, including laser coagulation and infrared photocoagulation. Injection sclerotherapy can also be used, which involves injecting the area around the hemorrhoid with a chemical that closes off the veins supplying blood to the hemorrhoid, thus causing it to shrink. Finally, a rubber band can be placed at the base of the hemorrhoid to cut of the blood supply, causing the hemorrhoid to shrink and eventually fall off.

If you suffer from hemorrhoids, there are also some lifestyle changes you can make that can help prevent hemorrhoids from developing or returning. Preventative measures include eating a diet that is rich in fiber and drinking at least eight cups of water every day. If you are overweight, losing weight can help prevent hemorrhoids from forming or returning. An active lifestyle, including regular exercise, can help prevent hemorrhoids as well. You should also be sure to avoid straining while having bowel movements. Difficulty with bowel movements can be helped by using a stool softener or natural laxative such as psyllium husks and by making dietary changes.

There are several external hemorrhoid treatments available over-the-counter as well as professional medical treatments.
Hemorrhoids are an uncomfortable condition that affect a significant number of people. There are cures available but for sufferers, finding an effective external hemorrhoid treatment is often the principle concern. Many people find relief in simply sitting in a hot bath for twenty minutes at a time, three to four times a day. Following this with a wrapped ice pack can ease the pain along with mild over-the-counter pain killers. Other external hemorrhoids treatments come in the form of creams containing topical anesthetics, which are available at most drugstores. These creams and ointments usually contain vasoconstrictors, which shrink blood vessels thus reducing the size of the external hemorrhoids. Many people use astringents containing aloe vera or witch hazel to dry and cool the skin around the hemorrhoid, helping to relieve the uncomfortable symptoms. Hydrocortisone is also used to decrease inflammation but should not be used for an extended period of time and is avaliable with a prescription from your GP, although a treatment such as Preparation H is available over the counter and can be effective in treating Hemorrhoids.

Surgery is usually reserved for when an external hemorrhoid gets to an advanced stage, but often people use this method when they need quick relief from the pain and discomfort of the problem. It is the most expensive external hemorrhoid treatment method as well as the most invasive. A doctor is first consulted and if an operation seems a viable solution after physical examination and laboratory tests, a surgery for removal of the hemorrhoids is scheduled and performed.

Thrombosed external hemorrhoid treatment

External hemorrhoids can become thrombosed. This is when a blood clot forms inside the hemorrhoid, causing significant pain. There are a range of treatment options for this condition, but many doctors recommend surgery as the safest option.

Some say that prevention is the best treatment. To prevent external hemorrhoids from ever appearing again, there are several measures that are recommended. It is believed that being overweight or obese can cause external hemorrhoids, so proper diet and exercise is recommended to prevent hemorrhoids or at least lessen the size of the lump or clot making treatment simpler. A diet high in fiber that includes whole grains, fruits and vegetables and limits saturated fats and simple sugars allows for the most healthy digestion. Another preventative measure is reducing toxins and regulating digestion by ensuring regular bowel movements, including exercise into your routine and staying well hydrated. This prevents the buildup of solids in the digestive tract and regulates metabolism, preventing the formation of external hemorrhoids. Smoking and alcohol intake should be reduced if not eliminated. It is recommended that people who are prone to external hemorrhoids wear loose clothing and underwear rather than clothes that can constrict and irritate. Eliminate the use of dyes and scents in soaps, laundry detergents and toilet paper.

Hemorrhoids may not be life-threatening, but they are certainly painful. After all, who wants to put up with a bunch of irritated, inflamed, and dilated veins? This condition can make sitting for long periods of time incredibly uncomfortable, and the condition can be even too embarrassing to discuss with a GP. Thankfully, there are effective hemorrhoid cures available in the privacy of your own home. Following are some of the best hemorrhoid cures as well as ways to treat the symptoms.

One of the best ways to deal with hemorrhoids is to make some changes to your diet. Thus, try to take in more flax and fiber so that you are not constipated. Often, hemorrhoids occur because of issues with one’s bowel movements and digestive system. As a start, drinking more fluids such as fresh water, herbal teas and limiting black tea, coffee and sugary drinks such as soda can help get the bowel working again. In conjuction with more fluids, try to incorporate fruits and vegetables into your diet to get more fiber into your system which is proven to get the digestive system working as it should.

Another effective cure for hemorrhoids is to use a stool softener. This way, you can avoid temporary irritation of the anus brought on by constipation. Additionally, try using both over-the-counter ointments and prescription strength lotions to help relieve the swelling and inflammation of the hemorrhoids, such as Preparation H.

There are a few procedures that, if successful, can cure hemorrhoids completely. For example, if a doctor cuts off the blood flow to dilated veins, it can often relieve hemorrhoids, especially those internal ones that are irritated when you use the bathroom. To do this, a doctor will cut off the flow. There are several methods for doing this, including cauterising with heat or sealing the vein with a type of rubber band.

The most common cure for hemorrhoids is to have them surgically removed. This is called a hemorrhoidectomy. This is a solid option for those who have internal hemorrhoids that are causing them a great deal of pain and discomfort as well as for those with external hemorrhoids that are not responding to other treatments and seem to be getting worse and worse.

Of course, the best cure for hemorrhoids is to prevent them from happening in the first place. To do this, make sure that you are careful with how you wipe the anus area after bowel movements. If you rub too hard, you risk aggravating the area. Try using especially soft toilet paper or that which has been moistened with water. Additionally, stay away from soaps with harsh chemicals in them or those that are performed or dyed.

The only way to know which cure or treatment is right for you is to consult with a doctor. This way, you can be sure to get rid of this painful condition before it becomes all-consuming. In time, if you change your diet and lifestyle, you can prevent the condition from happening again

If you have ever had hemorrhoids then you know how painful it can be to sit, walk around or even stand up. Hemorrhoids is a condition in which the veins in your rectum or in the lower rectum become inflamed, making it extremely painful to sit down, much less to use the restroom should you have to go. Hemorrhoids can either be internal, eg inside the anus or external which are around the exterior of the anus. Both kinds are painful, but not life threatening and generally only last for a few days.

The first thing that you’ll need to do is determine if you truly do have hemorrhoids, or something else entirely. It is easy for the untrained layman to misdiagnose hemorrhoids. Here are the symptoms of hemorrhoids: If you find blood on your toilet paper while defecating. Of course, you may experience the pain associated with the condition, but some people have hemorrhoids and don’t have any pain. Another symptom that you might experience is thrombosed external hemorrhoids, which may present with pain and swelling, and rubbing or cleaning the area will cause bleeding and itching.

Hemorrhoids are fairly common. In fact, about half of adults, both male and female, will experience them by the age of fifty. Pregnancy is known to cause hemorrhoids in some cases as well, but these are just a temporary problem. Your doctor will diagnose hemorrhoids by examining the anus and rectum for the swollen blood vessels, as well as performing a rectal exam by hand to look for abnormalities. This is important because rectal bleeding may indicate things more serious than hemorrhoids, such as colorectal cancer. The doctor may also do a more in depth exam using an anoscope.

Knowing how to treat hemorrhoids will help you with the condition, and hemorrhoids are treated mainly by relieving the symptoms. The first thing that your doctor will likely recommend is a soak in a bathtub with warm water. This should be about a 10-20 minute bath. You can also use over the counter hemorrhoidal cream to prevent the itching and burning associated with the condition. Simply rub the cream over the affected area. This type of hemorrhoidal treatment is also available in suppositories.

Preventing hemorrhoids in the long term will require making sure that your stool is soft enough to pass easily, and learning not just how to treat hemorrhoids, but how to prevent them in the first place will save you a lot of pain in the long run. You will need to relieve the pressure of constipation, since the straining is one of the main causes of this condition. If you add fiber and a greater number of fluids to your diet, which will go a long way towards helping the pain. Most doctors recommend six to eight glasses of liquid per day, but not alcoholic, to create softer stools that are larger and bulkier. Of course, always check with your doctor before starting any treatment regime.

Hemorrhoids are a common issue that can be annoying and painful, but are generally not cause for serious concern. While repeated instances of hemorrhoids should be examined by a doctor and some hemorrhoids may require surgery, there are several steps you can take to prevent hemorrhoids or to treat minor hemorrhoids at home. It is important to note that rectal bleeding can be caused by a number of conditions and diseases, such as a variety of cancers; therefore, if rectal bleeding is present, you should be examined by your healthcare provider to rule out other possible causes before assuming it is caused by hemorrhoids.

The first step in managing hemorrhoids and determining the best course of action is to understand what hemorrhoids are, what causes hemorrhoids and the difference between internal and external hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels in the anal canal. They can be caused by straining during bowel movements or giving birth, or by anything that increases pressure on veins in the rectal or pelvic areas, such as being overweight, pregnancy, hypertension and extended periods of sitting. When veins become swollen or inflamed in the interior wall of the anal canal, internal hemorrhoids form; whereas, when veins become inflamed or swollen near the anus, external hemorrhoids are formed. Many people experience both internal hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids at the same time, and each of these can cause symptoms that include itching, pain and bleeding, particularly after a bowel movement that requires straining.

Preventing hemorrhoids, or treating hemorrhoids at home, is centered largely on modifying your diet and lifestyle to encourage healthy bowel movements that do not require straining. For example, avoiding constipation through dietary changes and allowing bowel movements to occur naturally and in their own time, rather than straining to speed up the process, are key components in the prevention of hemorrhoids. Dietary changes that promote healthy bowel movements are a good, natural remedy for hemorrhoids. These include increasing your fiber intake by consuming more whole grains, beans, vegetables and fruits, and increasing your water consumption to avoid dehydration. Limiting food and beverage items like red meat, cheeses, ice cream, alcohol and caffeinated drinks can also help avoid constipation.

Regular exercise is an important lifestyle change that promotes healthy bowel movements and helps to prevent the recurrence of hemorrhoids. Exercise can also help overweight folks lose excess weight, which will decrease the pressure that causes hemorrhoids. Pregnant women can help to relieve the pressure on the pelvic and rectal areas by sleeping on their side, rather than their back, and anyone who suffers from hemorrhoids should avoid lifting heavy objects whenever possible and should avoid extended periods of sitting or standing.

If necessary, stool softeners can be used; however, laxatives should be avoided, as they can damage the colon and cause further issues.
