Thanks for this information.

I have also found the following useful when trying to ease baby constipation and constipation in newborns.

Exercise is very helpful in eliminating constipation. If your baby is mobile, get him to crawl or walk more. If she is too small to crawl, lay her on her back and rotate her legs yourself. Bend and straighten her legs and tickle them to get those legs kicking.

Massage the baby’s belly. Using a natural oil or cream, rub your baby’s tummy in the belly button area in small circles.

Give the baby a warm bath. A warm bath will help to loosen the stools and allow your baby to go to the bathroom. Do not let the water get too warm however so as not to burn the baby.

Hope that helps

Hi Diane,
Of course consulting your GP is the best thing to do so that your specific condition can be evaluated. It sounds like you have already done that, which is great.
A few other general tips are to avoid 'sharp' food products like whole grain products, corn chips and nuts. Keep your liquid intake up too.
Some find sitz baths an effective treatment - you can read more <a href="http://www.howtodothings.com/health-and-fitness/a4540-how-to-take-a-sitz-bath.html" rel="nofollow">here</a>.

Being a mum I have found that a simple home remedy such diluting 1tsp brown sugar in warm water also settles bubbies constipation - this can be given to them on a teaspoon or in a bottle.

Massaging the intestine area rather than the stomach also helps babies with their constipation.
If baby is constipated - when they are doing there business you can rub some vasoline cream on them to assist them also lifting there knees for them will also help

There is some really good info here! I would like to emphasize how important it is to drink enough water. If i stop drinking enough water then my bowels slow down every time and I begin to feel toxic!
